Notes:  Marriage of  Michael Elshire/Aleshire/Ailshire & Nancy Dodge

The Indiana Southern Counties Collection, First Marriage Records of Floyd County, Indiana  1819 -1837. by Mrs. M. Arthur ( Elizabeth S.) Payne, published by the Southern Indiana Genealogical Society, P.O. Box 665, New Albany, Indiana 47150. 1964. The preface says the author was National Vice Chairman Lineage Research Committee, NSDAR.   The foreword says the marriages were recorded in a marriage register from 1819 - 1837, and that the original licenses and minister's returns were destroyed in a flood in February 1937.
